The Chiropractic Philosophy
The history of Chiropractic began in 1895 when Daniel David Palmer of Iowa performed the first chiropractic adjustment on a partially deaf janitor, Harvey Lillard, who then mentioned a few days later to Palmer that his hearing seemed better. This led to Palmer opening a school of chiropractic two years later.
The Chiropractic philosophy is that the body has an innate intelligence, an ability to heal itself, it just requires no interference.
The Brain and the spinal cord are the central nervous system, protected by the skull and 24 vertebrae. When one or more of these vertebrae misalign, become fixated or locked, not only do they cause stiffness and reduced disease in the body, or a state of motion, the soft tissue surrounding the joints can cause nerve irritation. When the nerve is irritated and stretched the signals to and from the brain are affected, leading to dis-ease in the body, a state of imbalance. The body is then more prone to dysfunction and degeneration.
At Northmead Family Chiropractic we have enormous respect for the human body and its self-healing and self-regulating mechanisms. Our objective is to help your body’s innate intelligence to express itself to its full genetic capacity. Regardless of whether you are currently functioning at 10% or 90% of your capacity, we want you to know that there is no limit to how much better you can be!
Our Principal Chiropractor
Hardip Kaur is Restoring Health Chiropractic’s Principal Chiropractor. She has been in practice for 15 years and works with over 30 plus local doctors, local Gyms and Schools to improve the health level of her community. She addresses the structural, nutritional and emotional components behind spinal misalignments.
First exposed to Chiropractic when studying in 1999, Hardip holds the strong belief that “The body has the power to heal itself, it just needs good fuel, a flowing nervous system and a positive attitude to life. Spinal adjustments ensure good nerve flow and body function, and by putting the joints in their correct position, less wear and tear of them occurs over time.”
A member of the the Spinal Research Foundation, Hardip is an advocate for natural healthcare and a healthy lifestyle. She lives by the motto and encourages others to “Move well, eat well and think well”. She practices various chiropractic techniques ranging from the old school manual adjustments to activator method, making her a chiropractor who can treat almost anyone. Her purpose is to help every patient, restore, heal and flourish in life and is here to help you reach your health care goals and needs.
